President Buhari Receives PDP Governors, Others In London

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received seven state governors, including those from the opposition party, PDP, who travelled to visit him in London.
The governors who arrived London on Wednesday includes Abdulaziz Yari ( Zamfara) David Umahi ( Ebonyi) Abiola Ajimobi,(Oyo), Udom Emmanuel ( Akwa Ibom ), Abdullahi Ganduja(Kano), Samuel Ortom ( Benue ) and Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state.


The delegation was  led by the chairman of the Governors Forum, Governor Abdulaziz Yari.
This is the second goodwill visit by Nigerian political leaders to the president since he left for London in May where he has been receiving medical attention.
Explaining the purpose of the solidarity visit during a press conference with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the visit was “a goodwill visit and there is nothing more than that.”

According to them, President Buhari had initially barred politicians and other individuals from visiting him in London, but has changed his mind on the decision due to “the change in circumstances.
President Buhari was quoted as saying this was the proper time for him to receive delegations rather than when he was indisposed.
Mr Femi Adesina, stated that he could not give a timeline on the President’s return. “The information at our disposal is that the President will return as soon as his doctors give him the go ahead,” he said.
President Buhari had on Sunday received a delegation of All Progressives Congress ( APC) which comprised national leadership of the party and two of its governors—Nasir El-Rufai and Rochas Okorocha.

Okorocha had reported that President Buhari remains his old self when the team  met him at Abuja House, in London.
Ebonyi State governor Dave Umahi, has described the recovery of President Buhari as “a miracle”.
Speaking with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network
News, Umahi said he was “excited” to see the President in a good frame of mind.
